Civil Society – Fundraising Live

I was lucky enough to be invited to chair the Civil Society Media’s Charity Technology Stream at Fundraising Live 2023.

Speakers included:

Elizabeth O’Neill, Leadership Coach and Head of Projects and Change at CAF,

Tory Cassie and James Glover of M-Hance,

David Mitchell, Cryptocurrency and Digital Fundraising Manager at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home,

Nathan Baranowski, Kevin Triggle and Laura Pinkstone of Digital Wonderlab, and

Tarquin Falliss, OBE from SASIG.

There were lots of highlights including talks from David and Tarquin. David did a fantastic job explaining the value of Non Fungible Tokens in Charity Fundraising and probably the best explanation of Blockchain I have heard. And there was some great digital art on display.

Tarquin focused on the human side of cyber security and again a really good talk for anyone keen to know more.

As always the inspiring Liz O’Neill brought the energy and drive for good leadership … something we are seriously missing in the world and something I may rant about later 🙂

Tory and James did a credible job of discussing automation and the changes in the development world. I hope they inspired people to go and talk to their central technology teams more…. go on … break bread with each other.

And the Digital Wonderlab crew regaled us with their insights and discussion on the challenges of digital engagement… Perhaps a tiny bit harder to chair … bit like sitting on the tail of a tiger, the views and energy were clearly very high.

All in all a really good conference, well done Civil Society.
